Men who died in multi-vehicle car crash named by police

Two men who died in a multi-vehicle car crash in Aberdeenshire have been named by police.

Cameron Pearson, 23, and Asad Saghir, 32, were pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were alerted to the collision on the B9077 South Deeside Road near Maryculter on Saturday afternoon.

Police Scotland said Mr Pearson was from Aboyne in Aberdeenshire, while Mr Saghir was originally from Stockton-On-Tees in County Durham.

In a statement released through the force, Mr Pearson’s family said: “Our beloved son, Cameron Pearson, sadly passed away on Saturday following a car accident.”

The crash – involving a black Volkswagen Golf, a grey Skoda Kamiq and a grey Audi Q5 – happened at around 3pm.

An investigation into what exactly happened continues.

Road Policing Sergeant Pete Henderson said: “Our thoughts remain with the families and friends of Mr Pearson and Mr Saghir at this time.

“They have asked that their privacy be respected at this time and we will continue to support them as our enquiries progress.”
